Davis is the Valley Vista Director of Nursing. Officers filed a theft by deception report on March 27, 2024, at approximately 10:00 AM in the 800 block of Levee Drive.  Officers listed Purple Wave Auction as the victim when they reported a vehicle listed through their service was sold to a known individual who used a fraudulent credit card to secure the purchase. After five hours of deliberation Wednesday, a Pottawatomie County jury has convicted 22-year-old McKaine Farr of distribution of a controlled substance causing death. The conviction stems from a March 2023 incident at a Manhattan hotel involving Thomas Jackson DeLoach, of Manhattan, who died. This was Farr’s second conviction on the same charge. In December, he was convicted in the September 2021 death of Jayson Ebert, of Wamego. He’s currently serving more than 13 years on that conviction, following a January sentencing hearing. Farr is scheduled to be sentenced on his newest conviction on April 18. This is a developing story.…

Manhattan residents should notice more efficient traffic lights in the near future. City Engineer Brian Johnson presented city commissioners Tuesday with the proposed traffic system master plan, with a goal of making traffic signals communicate better across Manhattan. “Your major arterials where you can get a long run, you can have a corridor plan that sequences that platoon of traffic through, so we did update our corridor timing plans with this master plan,” he said. “Hopefully they’re going to be working a little bit better.” Johnson added that city crews update their traffic data every two years, a slight improvement…
