Work is scheduled to begin Monday on a stretch of Interstate 70 in Riley and Wabaunsee counties. The Kansas Department of Transportation says that work includes patching and replacing concrete panels from the Riley/Geary county line to K-30 in Wabaunsee County. Bridges and bridge approaches in the project corridor are not included. Crews will be working on both directions of I-70 in roughly 4-mile sections, with active work zones reduced to one lane with 12-foot width restrictions and a reduced speed limit of 60 mph. Four-time Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Brown, Jr. is leaving the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs for a $64.09 million, four-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. Brown’s agent, Michael Portner, confirmed the deal to The Associated Press on Wednesday night. He said it includes a $31 million signing bonus. The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its new leader of Manhattan’s military relations program. Christian Bishop will take over that role in April, serving as the military liaison between the Manhattan region and Fort Riley. She succeeds Janet Nichols, who left the Chamber in December to become Director of Public Affairs and Community Outreach for the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs. An investigation is underway after a Manhattan woman reported someone stole her mail, which including prescription pills totaling close to $36,000. The Riley County Police Department says a report for theft was filed Tuesday in the 2700 block of North Brookglen Circle. The 48-year-old woman says the pills were delivered to her front porch, and apparently intercepted by an unknown suspect. RCPD says the drugs were valued at $35,500.
