TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Hospitals in Sabetha and Beloit are the first in the state to be designated as Level 4 trauma centers. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday announced the designation for Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems in Beloit and Sabetha Community Hospital. The designation means the two hospitals have met requirements for equipment and resources to provide urgent care for seriously injured patients. They also have established relationships with other trauma centers if a higher level of care is needed. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Kansas House members have given first-round approval to a bill that seeks to buy time for defining what constitutes real and personal business property. Wednesday’s voice vote advanced the measure to final House action, expected Thursday. House passage would send the measure to the Senate. At issue is property that has previously been exempt from property taxes because of abatements granted by cities and counties. As those abatements expire, the property must be classified as either real or personal for tax purposes. A Manhattan woman’s mistake on the road lands her with a few injuries and a sitation. Around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, two vehicles collided on the intersection of Amherst and Seth Child. 25 year old Melissa Grilliot was driving her 2007 Dodge Charger northbound on Seth Child and was turning left to go west onto Amherst.  As she was turning, 58 year old Eddie Campbell was going southbound. NORMAN, Okla. (AP)   Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says four players have been suspended from the team indefinitely for violating team rules. Stoops announced late Wednesday that defensive back Quentin Hayes and wide receivers Trey Franks, Kameel Jackson and Jaz Reynolds were suspended. He did not say why. Hayes played in eight games as a special teams member and had tackles against Missouri, Texas and Kansas. Franks led the team in kick returns, averaging 23.9 yards a return on 22 attempts. WACO, Texas (AP)   Brittney Griner has a broken right wrist sustained in a longboard accident. Coach Kim Mulkey tells The Associated Press that the 6-foot-8 All-American center will be in a cast for four weeks. The school released no other details Wednesday about the injury. Mulkey first revealed Griner’s injury while attending an awards banquet in New York City on Tuesday night. Griner helped lead undefeated Baylor to the first 40-win season in NCAA history, capped when the Lady Bears won their second national championship last month. COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP)   Texas A&M has hired a search firm to help find its next athletic director, a day after Bill Byrne retired from the position. The school hired Parker Executive Search, a firm that has worked on athletic director searches at dozens of schools including five in the Southeastern Conference, where A&M is moving July 1.
