(K-State Athletics) – Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang added another piece to his roster for the 2024-25 season with the signing of transfer guard Brendan Hausen(Amarillo, Texas/Amarillo/Villanova) to a Financial Aid Agreement on Friday evening (April 26). A 6-foot-4, 205-pound guard originally from Amarillo, Texas, Hausen arrives at K-State after 2 seasons (2022-24) at Villanova, where he developed into one of the top 3-point shooters in the BIG EAST. A Fort Riley man was injured Friday in a Dickinson County crash. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Junction City and Chapman police were in pursuit of 28-year-old Jordan Rhynes, just after 11:30 a.m. in a rural area south of K-18 near Chapman. The bike struck a Chapman Police Department vehicle, driven by 45-year-old James Reynolds, who was not injured. Rhynes was transported to Stormont Vail in Junction City with minor injuries. He’s currently being held in the Geary County Jail without bond on a felony charge of flee and elude and a misdemeanor reckless driving charge. Authorities have not said…

Joshue Serrano, 22, of Manhattan was arrested in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on April 25, 2024, at approximately 1:20 PM. Serrano was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for rape- sexual intercourse with a mentally deficient victim and aggravated sexual battery of a mentally deficient victim. Total bond was set at $25,000. Serrano was not confined at the time of this report.

The culture and traditions of the bayou will be coming to downtown Manhattan this weekend for the 7th annual Bayou Gator Craw Fest at Blue Earth Plaza. Bayou Festival CEO Que Purdy previewed the event… Purdy is also the executive chef at Mamadeaux’s Creole Cafe, and says the Gator/Craw Fest started with people wanting to celebrate authentic Louisiana culture. The event has grown dramatically over the years, but Purdy says it has maintained it’s family-oriented and philanthropic nature.
