University officials have announced that the Kansas Soybean Commission has pledged $4 million to support the K-State College of Agriculture’s Innovation Centers for grain, food, animal and agronomy research. (Kansas State Athletics) – K-State freshman outside hitter Shaylee Myers, after leading the Wildcats in kills last week, was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Myers produced a match-high 17 kills in the Wildcats’ sweep of Iowa State Sunday, hitting .311 while adding three blocks, two digs and an ace. A 20-year-old Fort Riley man who police say tried to kill a former K-State football player stood mute at his Monday arraignment in Riley County District Court.
