The Junction City Police Department continues to seek the public’s help in locating and arresting one of Junction Cities 10 Most Wanted Fugitives Anna Bernice Corrales. Corrales is a Hispanic female, 24 years old, 150 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. She is wanted by the Geary County District Court on charges of Burglary, Felony Theft, Conspiracy to Obstruct Official Duty, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, her bond is $5000. The pool of candidates for the Riley County-Manhattan health department administrator has been narrowed down to three. Health board president Brady Burton made the announcement during Wednesday’s meeting. The candidates include Roger Closson (Manhattan), Larry Franken (Kansas City), and Suzanne Kufahl (Wheaton). As the board gets ready to welcome in the applicants, Burton and county commissioner Karen McCulloh will be setting up interview dates. Health board members Debbie Nuss and Dr. Paul Benne will be preparing the questions. The entire health board will be present during the actual interview. Two dogs are dead and a third missing in Leonardville in a case currently being investigated by the Riley County Police Department.  Dog owner Heath Romine tells KMAN that last Tuesday night his dogs were excited and barking, and later on that night one was found dragging its back legs, paralyzed. The paralyzed dog was euthanized the next day. On Wednesday, Romine discovered another one of his dogs dead and stuffed into a trash bag in a ditch. Romine hopes to find the remaining dog, whether it is alive or dead, so that him and his family can bring it…

Football game day isn’t far away now, and the city of Manhattan has issued a reminder of game day parking ordinances. City officials indicate the ordinances are to improve safety and allow for better emergency access during Kansas State home football game days. Parking is restricted and or prohibited and tow zones are established along several streets near the stadium. A complete listing can be viewed on the city’s website at www.manhattan.ks.us. Riley County police received a report of three missing dogs over the weekend, two of which are now dead. Three blueheeler dogs left their owner’s property in Leonardville over the weekend. One was found beaten to death, another with a broken back and hind legs (which ultimately died), while the third remains missing. RCPD announced that there are no suspects at this time. The case remains under investigation. HOUSTON (AP)   Texas A&M has told the Big 12 Conference it plans to leave the league by July 2012 if it is accepted by another conference.  The move, which had been expected, may set off another round of conference realignment in college sports.  The Aggies have made it clear they want to join the 12-member Southeastern Conference.  University President R. Kaitlynn Pelger notched a career high 24 kills as K-State pulled out a five set victory over Creighton on Tuesday night in front of nearly 3,000 fans at Ahearn Fieldhouse.  The Cats prevailed, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 17-25, and 15-13, scoring the final four points of the match to win.  Pelger was one block away from K-State’s first triple-double in seven years, she had 13 digs and 9 blocks.  Lilla Porubek added 15 kills.  Sophomore Courtney Traxson got her first start of the year, and registered 7 kills. While admitting to some frustrations with current conditions in the U-S government, Second District Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins of Kansas presented what’s being called a “path to prosperity” to Manhattan area business men and women, during a luncheon hosted by the Manhattan Area Chamber of commerce Tuesday.
