A St. George man was arrested Friday night following an incident in Manhattan that resulted in multiple felony charges, according to the Riley County Police Department. Officers filed reports at approximately 8:41 p.m. Feb. 6th in the 3200 block of Kimball Avenue for aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, criminal discharge of a firearm, interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon. A Manhattan woman was arrested Friday night on multiple probation violation warrants, according to jail records. Charla Albright, 45, was taken into custody at approximately 9:48 p.m. Feb. 6th in the 1000 block of Limey Place on two Riley County District Court warrants for probation violations. The warrants stem from original charges that include possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance. Albright was issued a total bond of $26,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Police are investigating an aggravated assault reported Saturday night on Fort Riley Boulevard. According to the Riley County Police Department, officers filed a report at about 8:56 p.m. Feb. 7th near mile marker 187 of Fort Riley Boulevard. A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman reported that an unknown suspect fired shots at their vehicle while they were driving in the area. No additional details were released. Manhattan High boys’ basketball hung tough for a half Saturday afternoon before No. 8-ranked Maize pulled away in the second half for a 67-44 win. The Indians matched the Eagles early, tied 9-9 after the first quarter, and trailed just 25-22 at halftime.
