Kansas State University has named Chris Culbertson dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, effective May 14. Culbertson has served as interim dean for the past year as well as professor of chemistry and associate dean of research and graduate studies in the college. He was appointed by Provost Charles Taber. As the new dean, Culbertson will lead all academic programs and serve as chief academic and administrative officer within the college. K-State alum Eldon Gideon has given a gift to name the deanship in the Kansas State University College of Agriculture, the fourth such named deanship at the university. The Eldon Gideon Deanship will be transformational for the college and future agriculture students, according to K-State officials, who say the funds will empower the dean to take advantage of emerging opportunities and recruit outstanding faculty and students.
