Riley County Game Warden Ben Jedlicka says even without alcohol present, being out on the water can be present stressors that impact your feelings and judgment and make you more accident prone. Riley County Police are investigating a number of thefts reported Wednesday including over $1,300 in cash stolen from Walmart. The retailer was listed as the victim Wednesday afternoon when it was noted a 21-year-old woman reportedly stole cash from the registers between Aug. 16 and Aug. 19. No arrests have been made. Two additional thefts were noted in Thursday’s police activity report, including a storage unit broken into in the 2700 block of Eureka Terrace. A 37-year-old woman reported the loss of multiple items, including furniture, a computer, children’s toys and a weedeater, totaling around $5,800. A report of burglary was filed, Tuesday,  in the 600 block of S. Delaware Ave. around 5:15 p.m. A 34-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported his storage unit was broken into and a Dell laptop computer, Craftsman toolbox, and two Makita drills were stolen from inside. RCPD Officers filed a report of theft at approximately 7:15 p.m., listing Kay Jewelers as the victim. It was reported an unknown male suspect stole a 10k yellow gold diamond ring and an Italian 24″ 10k yellow gold necklace. The estimated total loss associated with this case is $10,000.
