Infrastructure and facility projects were largely the focus of a joint governmental meeting Monday in Junction City. Representatives from the City of Junction City, Geary County and USD 475 met as a collective in CL Hoover Opera House for the joint session. TOPEKA, Kan. — (AP) Kansas’ school board has suspended the state’s top public school administrator over an offensive public comment about Native Americans. Its decision Friday to suspend Education Commissioner Randy Watson for 30 days without pay came after it unanimously rejected the resignation he submitted after the governor and indigenous leaders demanded it. As Manhattan continues to see its revenue rebound following the pandemic, city officials are assessing strategies to manage the city’s rising debt burden.
