Officers filed a report of a stolen motorcycle in the 700 block of Highland Ridge Dr., in Manhattan, on July 29, 2025 at approximately 12:04 p.m. A 31-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle from a parking lot. By Tim Everson One of Kansas State’s best offensive linemen heading into the 2026 season is recovering well after a medical scare suffered a couple of weeks ago, according to an update from Wildcat coach Chris Klieman on Monday. K-State junior offensive tackle and Ohio State transfer George Fitzpatrick was hospitalized on July 16 after a undisclosed “medical situation” during a summer workout. While it’s still unknown when the talented tackle will fully return to action, Klieman said things are moving in the right direction for the Colorado native just a couple weeks into recovery. The Kansas Court of Appeals receives a new bench member Wednesday, with the swearing in of Judge Lori Bolton Fleming. Fleming graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 2001, after an initial career in education. She attributes her value of communication to her experience as an educator. “I believe that our government belongs to the people, and as judges it is important that we communicate what we do and why we do it directly to the people we serve.” said Fleming. By Rose Gruenbacher An Ogden man on Monday entered guilty pleas for charges including financial and identity crimes, after prosecutors and his attorney reached a plea agreement. David Lee Huffman, 43, appeared in Riley County District court before judge Grand Bannister and pleaded guilty to two counts of forgery, identity theft, making false information and two counts of theft. By Rose Gruenbacher The Riley County Law Enforcement Agency Board in their July meeting unanimously approved RCPD involvement in a regional federal task force and upcoming local music festival. Rock the Plains music festival comes to Tuttle Creek State Park in August, and have approached the Riley County Police Department for traffic assistance. RCPD Major Scott Hajek presented the proposed contract for service on the eighth and ninth of August, after the concerts both days. The board approved the contract in a 7 — 0 vote. By Rose Gruenbacher The Riley County Police Department on Monday confirmed former officer Stephen Benjamin Clark was fired from the department. Maj. Daryl Ascher said Clark was terminated after the completion of an internal review process. Clark, 42, of Manhattan was arrested at 4:56 p.m. on June 4 at 1024 Lobdell Drive following an RCPD investigation into a domestic incident.
