By Tim Everson Kansas State coaches have kept busy since the start of the new year, reeling in four more incoming transfers over the last week, bringing the incoming transfer total to 11. In the past week, the Wildcats have added Nebraska running back Gabe Ervin Jr., South Alabama cornerback Amarion Fortenberry, Alabama edge rusher Jayshawn Ross and Wagner offensive tackle Brandon Sneh. A Manhattan man finds himself in trouble after he was arrested by police on charges anywhere from identity theft to forgery. Officers arrested Myles Vaughn, 32, on probable cause offenses of theft of property or services with a value between $1500 and $25,000, forgery and identity theft just after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riley County Police are investigating a theft that occurred on January 6, 2025, at approximately 5:30 PM at the intersection of N. Scenic Drive and Miller Parkway. A 34-year-old male reported that his trailer, which was hauling a washer, dryer, and other items, was stolen by an unknown subject. The total estimated loss from this theft is $1,400. The Riley County Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the theft to contact Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Several individuals and pets were displaced following a Sunday night fire in Pottawatomie County. 15 firefighters responded to a fire call in the 5300 Block of Highway 99. Crews from Louisville Township Fire, City of Wamego Fire, Belvue Township Fire and Pottawatomie County Consolidated Fire District #1-St. George responded to the scene. A small electrical fire in the basement of the structure was quickly knocked down. KDOT and the City of Wamego road crews assisted with getting the fire crews to the location.
