Riley County Police arrested an 18-year-old Manhattan man over the weekend in connection to a pawn shop burglary and theft. Officers were called out to Wildcat Pawn and Jewelry Friday morning just before 7 a.m. Arriving officers found the business had been broken into and a rifle worth approximately $1,100 had been stolen. Officers were called out to the 1400 block of Flint Hills Place, nearly two hours later to investigate a possible stolen car and identified the suspect to be the same in both incidents. Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. in Manhattan on June 9, 2023, around 6:45 a.m. after being called to Wildcat Pawn and Jewelry for the report of their business alarm being activated. After arriving on scene, officers found the business had been broken into and an Aero Precision M4E1 worth approximately $1,100 had been stolen. Oxavier Ruffin, 22, of Manhattan was arrested on June 8, 2023, around 11:15 a.m. on his two Riley County District Court for probation violation and interference with law enforcement and one Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for motion to revoke diversion for the offense of driving while suspended. The probation violation warrant stems from original charges of two counts each of domestic battery and violation of a protection order.
