A Wamego man who ran an LSD lab out of an abandoned missile silo is set to be released from prison on Sunday after President Joe Biden commuted his sentence. Biden announced earlier this month he was commuting the sentences of 1,500 Americans. Riley County’s new health department director has gotten started. Diane Creek on Dec. 9 began work in the role, in which she also will serve as the county’s local health officer, leading the department’s mission to promote and protect the health of residents. As health department director, Creek will oversee department programs and services; review agency activities; ensure compliance with local, state; and federal statutes; and collaborate with community partners to address complex public health issues. The new business, known as Flint Hills Motor Group LLC, will offer service and detailing in addition to auto sales. The incentives include a Community Improvement District (CID) incentive and an Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) incentive.
