A Manhattan man was arrested early Wednesday morning after officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle involving a suspect known to the victim. Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report of vehicle theft at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Oct. 22 in the 1900 block of Crescent Drive. An 85-year-old woman reported that a suspect she knew had stolen her 2002 Ford F-150. Authorities are investigating a burglary and vehicle theft that occurred over the weekend at an east Manhattan car dealership. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to Manhattan Ford Monday morning after learning someone had broken into the building and stolen property — including a 2025 Ford F-350 pickup valued at more than $100,000. The stolen truck was later recovered within the county. Detectives, with assistance from the Riley County Police Department, identified and located a 16-year-old Manhattan boy in connection with the case, who was interviewed. Some of the stolen items were recovered. (AP) — Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark said Tuesday that he is in favor of expanding the NCAA Tournament and the College Football Playoff, though he remains cautious about exactly how two of college sports’ premier events will look in the future.
