Officers filed a report of theft at approximately 5:03 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2026 in 200 block of Kansas Street in Leonardville. A 55-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported his red 8×12 flatbed trailer with a foldup ramp was stolen from his property. The Manhattan Urban Area Planning Board has advanced new clarifications on Riley County’s short-term rental regulations, aiming to make enforcement more consistent and less subjective. The decision attempts to clarify vague wording with how county staff interpret when a 500-foot separation distance between units can be waived, so that decisions are based on clear standards and not arbitrary in nature. The Indians led 21-15 after the first quarter and steadily built separation from there, taking a 37-24 lead into halftime before blowing the game open with a dominant third quarter.
