Chris Blevins, Kansas State Equine Vet Health Center Field Service Clinician, says understanding what to look for while caring for your horse is important. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A 13-year-old girl in Kansas died after being dragged for several miles by her family’s SUV that had been stolen outside of a restaurant, police said. The girl was sitting in the back seat of the running vehicle while her family went inside to get food on Saturday when Kevin Palmer, 34, got into the driver’s seat and took off, Wichita police said in a news release. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Three men avoided prison for hunting deer in areas of Fort Riley where explosives are discharged during training exercises, but they will each pay several thousand dollars in penalties. The men will also be banned from hunting for three years while they are on probation. The federal case involving several illegal hunts in 2018 and 2019 ended last week after the third man pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal trespassing charges as part of a deal with prosecutors.
