Ray Thomas, who has served on the Kansas State football strength and conditioning staff for the past four seasons, has been promoted to director of strength and conditioning, head coach Chris Klieman announced Wednesday. “We are pleased to elevate Ray to lead our strength and conditioning program,” Klieman said in a written statement. “Our players and coaches have the utmost respect for him, and his style and leadership will fit in seamlessly with our program as we enter the summer training months and into the season.” Thomas replaces Trumain Carroll, who left Manhattan to take a similiar job at USC…
The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association released their annual all-star rosters and two local stars will get to take the court for a final time to cap-off their high school careers. A Manhattan woman was arrested Tuesday, after allegedly firing a handgun during a road rage incident. 59-year-old Tracey Meredith is charged with aggravated assault after Riley County Police Officers filed a report near the intersection of 68th Ave. and Deer Trail Road, west of the Manhattan Regional Airport. An unidentified 61-year-old man was listed as the victim. No injuries were reported. Meredith was released from jail after posting a $5000 bond. Click here for more local news.
Rock Creek softball is hot on a four-game winning streak after sweeps Clay Center and Junction City over the last week. The Manhattan High boys’ golf team is best in the Centennial League following a tournament championship win in at Emporia Golf Course on Monday. The Indians finished with a team score of 288, 13 points ahead of runner-up Emporia. Leading the way for Manhattan High was freshman Charlie Haney, who finished first with a 1-under 70. A 61-year-old male was listed as a victim when it was reported that a 59-year-old female armed herself with a handgun and discharged it during a road rage incident.
