The 2nd Annual Big 12/Big East Battle had its matchups announced on Wedensday Morning. Last year K-State lost to Marquette at Bramlage Coliseum in the first edition of the battle, this next season, they will go on the road to face the Butler Bulldogs in Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Riley County health and safety officials are eyeing a path toward re-opening shut-down businesses, though report positive COVID-19 tests in the county are still growing. Area health and safety officials updated the community on the latest coronavirus information via Zoom on Facebook live Wednesday. Health Department Director Julie Gibbs said three new positive tests brings the county to a total of 34, though 13 of those are reported to have recovered. The program will begin on June 1 and go through June 25, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.. TOPEKA, Kan. — Kansas has relaxed its guidelines on coronavirus testing so that residents who don’t have a fever but who are showing other symptoms can be tested. Gov. Laura Kelly announced the change Tuesday as the state prison system saw the coronavirus spread to a third facility and the number of confirmed cases among staff and inmates topped 100. Kansas has among the the lowest testing rates of any state, and officials say they struggle to find supplies. Expanded testing is a key issue for officials in determining how and when to reopen the state’s economy.
