Riley County Police are investigating after two men reportedly stole thousands of dollars in merchandise from the Manhattan Home Depot store. Officers filed a theft report Wednesday evening after it was reported the men, aged 65 and 54 took multiple tools, which were later recovered in Shawnee County. The estimated total loss was over $5,500. As of Thursday, police had not made any arrests. The investigation remains ongoing. Click here for more local news.

Officers filed a report for attempted burglary and criminal damage to property Wednesday in the 700 block of Laramie Street. The residents who reported the incident told police an unknown person damaged their door, causing an estimated $500 in damage. The Kansas Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to slow down and respect work zone signage after a high-speed traffic stop in a construction zone last week on I-70, near Junction City. According to a social media post from the agency, a KHP trooper was monitoring traffic in the area Friday morning when a driver sped through the construction zone at 100 miles per hour in a posted 60 mph zone.
