TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas is giving about 300 corporations an extra 30 days to file their state income tax returns because of the complexity of federal income tax changes enacted at the end of 2017. The state Department of Revenue announced Tuesday that it will allow corporations to file their tax returns by Nov. 15 without penalty if they’d already sought an extension on filing their federal taxes until Oct. 15. The Pottawatomie County Commission approved a design plan and modified cost for a public works fleet maintenance facility during a meeting Monday. The design plan was put together by BG Consultants, an engineering and architecture firm that had a representative present at the meeting. The construction cost of the facility sits at approximately 1.4 million dollars after modifications were made to what will be included in the facility. Project costs total about 1.9 million dollars when also considering land acquisition, architectural and engineering work, and equipment. KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Police have identified two suspects in a Kansas bar shooting that left four people dead and five others wounded. Police in Kansas City, Kansas, announced early Monday that 23-year-old Javier Alatorre was arrested Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, while 29-year-old Hugo Villanueva-Morales is still at large. Both men have been charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
