A Manhattan man is being held behind bars following an early morning arrest Sunday in Aggieville. 31-year-old Deitrich Daventa Duncan was arrested in the 1100 block of Moro St. around 2:45 a.m. on one charge of possession of firearm while under influence, and one charge of Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon. Duncan is still being held in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $10,000.

The Riley County Police Department is investigating a recent theft at was reported Sunday at Weisner’s Sewing Center at approximately 12:30 p.m. RCPD officers filed the report of theft by deception in the 300 block of Poyntz Ave. when it was reported a known subject passed a check for two sewing machines that did not clear the bank. The total loss associated with the report is $3,384.
Officers filed a report of an injury accident at the corner of McCall Road and Hayes Drive on September 27, 2024, at approximately 6:00 PM. Officers report Marie Freeman, 56, of Manhattan, failed to yield at the red light and her 2018 Ford F150 struck Tabitah Dobrovolny, 32, of Ogden who was driving a 2018 Chevy Malibu. Freeman was transported to Via Christi by EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Freeman was cited for failure to stop at a red light. One person died in an accident involving a motorcycle and pedestrian just before 10 p.m. Friday in Riley County. According to the Riley County Police Department, a Honda Custom motorcycle driven by Kameron Banks, 19, of Manhattan, was westbound in the 2300 Block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard between Kimball Avenue and Northfield Drive. The motorcycle collided with a pedestrian, 49-year-old Travell Toliver, of Manhattan, who was crossing the highway. Toliver was pronounced dead at the scene. The KSU Foundation on Monday announced it had received its largest financial contribution to the K-State College of Architecture, Planning and Design. The gift of approximately $13 million comes from the charitable trust fund established by the late Donald Wilson, a 1959 K-State architecture graduate, and his late wife, Susie. The funds will provide annual fellowships to approximately 20 APDesign students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The fellowships will cover the cost of tuition, fees and books, and it will include a housing stipend.
