    Chamber renews contracts, looks ahead to 2019

    MANHATTAN — Officials with the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce continue to look at new ways to market the community to others traveling through Kansas.
    Lyle Butler, President and CEO of the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce, was on In Focus recently and provided an update on Marketing Manhattan and some of the recent contract renewals approved by the Manhattan City Commission recently.

    According to Butler this is a great form of economic development for the area.

    The other contract is with their military relations effort. Those contracts were approved at the Dec. 18 meeting. Butler also previewed some events the Chamber is looking forward to in the new year.

    The active shooter program is January 16. More information can be found at the Chamber office, by phone or online. Butler also highlighted a women in business seminar.

    Butler said they also have their annual regional leaders retreat coming up on the third weekend in January. You can find information or register for these events online at www.manhattan.org
