    MRC lunches begin February 2

The Manhattan Military Relations Committee will welcome back MRC lunches in February.

Military relations liaison, Janet Nichols, says the MRC lunches are open to anyone even without membership. She says it is great opportunity to network, learn, and enjoy lunch. She says the lunch is twenty dollars, but well worth it.

“It has an entree, at least one vegetable, a salad, a starch, and usually there is dessert.”

Nichols says registration opens at 11:15 with most people coming at 11:30. Most people network for about 20 minutes before lunch is served and then it is straight into the guest speaker. She talks more about the speaker scheduled for the February 2 lunch.

“We are doing, kind of, a military behavioral health update and panel. I’m working with Dr. Arthur DeGroat over at K-State military affairs. Veteran mental health is a real passion of his.”

She says the presentation is usually 20 minutes and then they end with some fun.

“Our sponsors graciously donate a giveaway, so we usually have a drawing for a giveaway at the end, and that’s it. I try really, really hard to be done at exactly 1 o’clock.”

Other guest speakers this spring include Col. Jason Arriaga, Col. Edgar Arroyo, and Col. Will McKannay.
