    New Superintendent for USD 378

    Riley county USD 378

    The Riley County USD 378 Board of Education has announced that Cliff Williams has been selected as the district’s new Superintendent. Williams will replace Interim Superintendent Nancy Meyer who will be leaving on June 30, 2016.

    The board held a special meeting Tuesday night and approved the hiring of Williams by a 6-0 vote.

    Williams currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools in the Burlington School District USD 244. He has been the Superintendent since 2009 as well as Curriculum Director, Instruction and School Improvement Director, Federal Programs Coordinator, and Virtual Program Facilitator.

    Williams states, “My family and I are very excited about joining the Riley County Schools family. When touring the district we felt so welcome by the students, staff and board of education. I am ready to continue strong traditions and build new ones at Riley County.”

    The new USD 378 Superintendent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State University (1990); a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Emporia State University (2002); and a District Level Educational Administration Endorsement also from Emporia State University (2008). His professional employment has included positions as an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and School Improvement, Classified Human Resources, Transportation, Food Service, Physical Plant, State and Federal Programs, and Strategic Planning and District Communication at Clay County Schools in Clay Center, Kansas; PreK-4 Elementary Principal and K-12 Summer School Coordinator at Hiawatha Elementary School in Hiawatha, Kansas; K-6 Principal, 7-8 Activities Director, and Local Consolidated Plan Coordinator at Highland Grade School in Highland, Kansas.

    Professional memberships related to Mr. William’s work in educational administration include the School Superintendent Association, Kansas School Superintendent Association, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Kansas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Kansas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Kansas Association of Elementary School Principals, United School Administrators, Title I Teacher of a Nationally Distinguished Title I School, and Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers Award.
