Travis Altenhofen to resign from Pottawatomie County Commission

Travis Altenhofen announced he will be resigning from his position as Chair of the Pottawatomie County Commission and representative of district three during a meeting this morning.

In his announcement, Altenhofen stated he would be taking over as the Chief Financial Officer at Manko Window Systems in Manhattan.

“Over the past year, I had been contemplating running for a second term, watching my friend and colleague at my primary job battle cancer,” Altenhofen said. “On Sept. 19th, he passed away and I was asked if I could fill his position as the Chief Financial Officer.”

Altenhofen also stated he is “no longer able to provide the long-term time and attention that the citizens of Pottawatomie County need and expect from their elected officials going forward.”

He will continue to serve on the county commission until January 10th, 2020.

Altenhofen was elected to the commission in 2016.
