An investigation is underway following an early Sunday morning shooting in Aggieville that left two people hospitalized with injuries.
The Riley County Police Department says it heard and responded to the reports of gun shots inside Tate’s Bar in Aggieville shortly before 1:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and a second 24-year-old man suffering from a concussion. Both victims were transported to Ascension Via Christi for treatment. The shooting victim was later life flighted to Stormont Vail Hospital for further treatment.
One of the injured was reportedly a K-State football player, according to numerous reports. The university says counselors with its Office of Student Life will be on hand Monday helping anyone affected by the shooting.

Two people sustained injuries in an early Sunday morning incident in Aggieville.
The Riley County Police Department says it responded to a report of shots fired sometime after 2 a.m. Police were instructing individuals at the time to shelter in place.
No other initial details about the shooting were reported by police, but according to numerous unconfirmed reports from individuals on social media, it appears there was a shooting that occurred inside Tate’s. RCPD is expected to release more details later Sunday.
By 3 a.m., police determined there was no ongoing threat to the area.
