U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue will deliver the next Landon Lecture, scheduled for November 1st.
The series is named for former Kansas Gov. Alf Landon, who was the 1936 Republican nominee for president. The series was established in 1966 to bring in speakers to discuss issues facing business, politics and international relations.
Perdue’s speech is titled “Leave it Better than you found it: Lessons in Public Service I learned on the Farm.” Perdue, the former governor of Georgia, grew up on a dairy and crop farm.
Perdue is the 11th Secretary of Agriculture to participate and 179th speaker overall to deliver a lecture in the Landon series.
The talk will take place in McCain Auditorium and is slotted to begin at 10:30 a.m.
