A Manhattan teen was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a fatal accident in southeast Kansas that took four lives Saturday afternoon. Elaine Snowden, 17, of Manhattan was taken to Wesley Medical Center following the accident on Highway 400, three miles west of Severy.
Snowden was in a 2013 Lincoln driven by Arden White, 72, of Oklahoma City, who died in the crash. Another passenger Sheryl White, 68, also of Oklahoma City, died. A Third passenger, Julia Smith, 18, of Moore Oklahoma survived the crash but was taken to Wesley Medical Center. Two Illinois residents in the other vehicle involved also died.
White’s vehicle was westbound and went left of center for an unknown reason, with the two vehicles striking head on.
