Sarah Jean Richter, 42, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 12:55 p.m. on April 1, 2026 in the 600 block of Yuma on a Pottawatomie County District Court warrant for failure to appear. Richter was issued no bond and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Nesa Marie Simms, 31, of Scott City, was arrested at approximately 5:32 p.m. on April 1 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges that include two counts of arson and one count each for aggravated arson and possession of methamphetamine. Simms was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report of aggravated assault at approximately 7:17 a.m. on April 1 in Manhattan. A 56-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported that a known 87-year-old male suspect tried to run over the victim with his truck.
