Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested James Sitterle, 35, of Junction City, Kansas with assistance from the Junction City Police Department. Sitterle was arrested while in Junction City after officers began looking for him in connection to a flee and elude investigation which occurred in Manhattan. This incident began in the 1300 block of Anderson Ave. when a police officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on Sitterle. The vehicle did not stop immediately which began a short pursuit which ended in the 900 block of Laramie Street where the vehicle being driven (2011 Toyota Camry) collided with a tree. The occupant fled the scene and was later apprehended in Junction City. Sitterle was given a bond of $5,000.00 for the offenses of flee and elude, driving while suspended, and unlawful possession of marijuana. At the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail after being transported from Geary County.
Keyshawn Russell, 17, of Manhattan was taken into custody on the offenses of aggravated sexual battery and criminal restraint on May 12, 2016 at approximately 4:00 PM. Russell was contacted by police after receiving a report of inappropriate touching of the chest of a female victim who is 17-years-old. Currently Russell is confined at the North Central Kansas Regional Detention Center in Junction City, Kansas. Russell and the victim in this case are known to each other.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Donekka Geiger, 23, of Junction City, Kansas on the offense of failure to appear which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of theft. Geiger was taken into custody while at the Riley County Police Department on May 12, 2016 at approximately 8:50 PM. She was given “no bond” as a result of this warrant.
Police filed a report for the offense of aggravated burglary in the 1800 block of Laramie Street in Manhattan on May 13, 2016 at approximately 3:20 AM. Officers arriving on scene found that a window had been damaged as two unidentified white males attempted to gain entry into a home occupied by Delta Delta Delta Sorority. The two suspects fled the scene when residents noticed that the two were attempting to gain entry into the home. The total estimated loss for window damage was approximately $50.00. A press release will be issued later today regarding a drug investigation with led to an arrest with a bond of $27,000.00. This arrest stems from an ongoing investigation into the illegal distribution of narcotics in the Manhattan and Riley County areas.
