    Vehicle Fire shuts down Westbound I-70

    A vehicle fire that broke out shortly after noon on Friday in the Westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Riley/Geary County line shut down those lanes for approximately one hour on Friday afternoon.

    There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is unknown but traffic was backed up for at least four miles as crews extinguished the fire and performed cleanup operations. The fire occurred at Mile Marker 316.
