    County Budget Approval Date Set

    0
By KMAN Staff on June 28, 2011 Local News

Riley County spending impacts approximately 70 thousand people each year. This makes the county budget a very important for Commissioners to determine.

County Budget and Finance Officer Johnette Shepek says that nearly 90% of the current budget goes to personnel. The other funds are provided to the Riley County Police department and the County building.

Shepek reports that the RCPD uses the funding to cover inmate medical costs as well as the facilities costs at the Law Enforcement Center.

Commissioners hope to have the final budget approved by July 14th.
