Family members and soldiers were in attendance as the Isis Shrine Temple Pipe and Drums Corps played in the background, and then names of the 22 fallen soldiers were read out loud as the victory bell was struck.
A Wreath was lain in honor of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and after a 21 gun salute Taps was played.
David and Annaeve Hinkley paused after the ceremony to thank the Army Family, and Fort Riley for remembering their daughter 23-year-old Sergeant Faith Hinkley. The Hinkleys said that they were both so proud of their daughter, and her bravery.
David Hinkley said “I suggested about other ways she could serve her country, but she said ‘Dad what if everyone felt that way… who would serve our country’?”.
