Riley County Police reported on Monday that two Fort Riley soldiers were arrested over the weekend on charges of battery and aggravated battery.

RCPD reports indicate that at 12:15 in the morning on Sunday a fight broke out in the alleyway of 1209 Laramie. RCPD accounts of the incident indicate that a witness heard loud shouting, and then saw three men on the ground fighting.

RCPD is naming 26 year old Joshua Mendenhall of Kansas City Missouri as the victim. Mendenhall was taken to Mercy Regional Health Center after the altercation, and received 5 stitches across his face from multiple lacerations.

The two soldiers charged in the fight are 25 year old Corey Dimon from the 1st battlalion 28th infantry regiment, and 21 year old Jesse Bjorndahl who is also from 1-28th infantry.

Initially Dimon and Bjorndahl were charged with Battery, but after Mendenhall’s injuries turned out to be more serious than anticipated Bjorndahl’s charges were upgraded to aggravated battery.
