LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) A 30-year-old man has drowned at a lake in northeast Kansas.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the victim’s name won’t be released until relatives are notified.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that the man drowned Saturday morning in Lone Star Lake, which is located 16 miles southwest of Lawrence.
Douglas County sheriffs Sgt. Steve Lewis said witnesses reported a man was swimming with his friends about 75 feet off shore when he went underwater and didn’t resurface.
Lewis said the Douglas County divers recovered the body a few hours later.
The incident is the second drowning at Lone Star Lake this summer.
