Final health board administrator candidate interviewed

By KMAN Staff on September 30, 2011 Local News, The Blog, Uncategorized

One of the two remaining Riley County health department administrator candidates had a day of interviewing and getting acquainted… although this particular candidate is already pretty well acquainted with county officials. Susanne Kufahl, who currently serves as assistant administrator of what is now the Riley County/Manhattan health department,  says she brings a lot of interest, enthusiasm, and experience, having served as assistant administrator for 14 and a half years.

There was a life before the Riley County/Manhattan health department for Kufahl, however, serving in a rural health clinic where she did a variety of work. She has a masters degree in speech pathology and audiology and a Masters of Public Administration. Kufahl has worked in health administration for 20 years.

Chuck Murphy has served as Administrator for several years.

The only other candidate for the position is Roger Closson, who met with county officials in mid-September. A third candidate withdrew from contention.
