A 50-year-old Independence man was found dead Tuesday afternoon on school property in Elk County.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said personnel at Elk Valley USD 283 discovered Jason Barrager at about 2 p.m. and notified law enforcement. The Elk County Sheriff’s Office requested KBI assistance at about 2:30 p.m.
Investigators determined Barrager was alone on the school property at about 3 a.m. and did not leave the area.
