LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) The chairman of the Kansas Board of Regents says the board will discuss conference realignment at its meeting Thursday, but he remains confident the Big 12 can survive. Ed McKechnie told The Kansas City Star that the meeting will be held in executive session and will be attended by officials from both K-State and KU. He says that as long as five schools remain committed to the Big 12, the conference can survive. McKechnie says he expects “everybody to live up to their obligations and honor the contracts they have signed.”
