    MHS golf team takes 2nd

    Manhattan finished second at the Centennial League golf tournament at Cypress Ridge in Topeka on Tuesday.

    Manhattan tied Washburn Rural with a team score of 345, but Washburn’s 5th score was lower than Manhattan’s 5th score, giving Washburn Rural trophy.

    Hayden’s Brook LaRue was the league champion shooting a 77. Leading Manhattan was Blake Fingalsen’s 2nd place finish with a score of 82. Jenna Crusinberry also shot an 82 but lost a scorecard playoff to Blake and got 3rd. Taylor Lund shot an 89 to finish 7th. Kylie McCarthy shot a 92 to finish 10th, Kelsey McCarthy shot a 102 to finish 16th , and Hanna Devane shot a 102 to finish 17th.

    Next up for Manhattan is the Hutchinson Invitational Thursday at Carey Park.
