    – The Manhattan High volleyball team won their home invitational on Saturday.  The Tribe claimed pool play victories over Gardner-Edgerton, Junction City, and Topeka High.  MHS then beat Shawnee Heights in the semis 23-25, 25-15, and 25-17, and won the tournament by beating Blue Valley in the title match 23-25, 25-21, and 25-11.  The Indians are 25-7 on the season and will play at Washburn Rural on Tuesday night, where they’ll face the Junior Blues, Hayden, and Lawrence High.

    – The MHS boys and girls cross country teams each won the Salina Central Invitational at Bill Burke and Indian Rock parks.  The Indian boys were just ahead of Dodge City, and Jame Leblow won the race as finished in 16:57.38.  The Manhattan High girls edged out second place Goddard Eisenhower, as Caitlin Heldt finished sixth individually with a time of 16:41.58.
