Shortly after 6 p.m.,the Riley County Police Department reported
that a tractor trailer struck an electrical pole near the 2200 block of
Anderson Avenue (Westloop area). This caused a power outage that stretches
east to College Heights Road and traffic was shut down on that stretch.
Westar Energy reports approximately 1,100 residents lost electricity as a result of the incident, however full power should be restored in the next few hours.
