Officers filed a report for theft of property or services at approximately 2:59 a.m. on Sept. 4, 2026 in the 700 block of Crestwood Drive. A 22-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported his 2026 Volkswagon Tiguan was stolen from a parking lot by an unknown suspect. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $35,000. The vehicle was later recovered. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Jamal Rhsard Williams, 49, of Wichita, was arrested at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Sept. 3 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. This arrest stems from original charges that include distribution of methamphetamine more than than 100 grams, distribution of opiates/opium/narcotics/stimulants, distribution of methamphetamine less than 3.5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer, and trafficking of contraband into a correctional/care facility. Williams was issued a total bond of $250,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
