The man convicted of setting fire to two warehouses at Griffith Lumber in Manhattan over two years ago will spend the next three years in federal prison.
William Willox, 23, of Manhattan was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to one count of arson in the April 2009 fire.
Prosecutors say Willox, then an employee of the lumber company, set a magazine on fire near some insulation and walked away. Within 10 minutes, the warehouse was engulfed in flames. The fire, driven by winds up to 40 mph, quickly spread to a second warehouse.
Willox will also have to pay over $600,000 in restitution as part of his sentence.
