With 2011 coming to a close, it leaves Manhattan with many things to reflect upon and much more to look forward to.
This past year has seen construction on the K-18 corridor, which was only possible because of some extra funding. Manhattan was awarded with the Best City for Small Business by Forbes magazine. Fort Riley is looking to welcome home almost all of the soldiers that have been deployed. The airport has seen an increase, which has lead to additional flights. Manhattan holds the lowest unemployment rate in the state. The Wildcats and Manhattan also beat Lawrence in the Energy Challenge.
