A Wamego man was sentenced to about 21 years with the state department of corrections for a variety of sexual offenses.  Jordan Sweet, 20, was sentenced to 253 months during an appearance in Pottawatomie county district court Thursday.

Sweet entered no contest pleas in early October to aggravated criminal sodomy and two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. There were multiple victims in the case, known to Sweet. The cases reportedly occurred in April.

Amy Griffin, 36,  of St. Mary’s entered a plea of no contest to distribution of methamphetamine and aggravated child endangerment. Her sentencing is set for February 16th. Griffin and her co-defendant Richard McGill were arrested after a search warrant in St. Mary’s in late August resulted in the seizure of meth and drug paraphernailia. McGill, who entered a no contest plea last month, has had his sentencing continued to February 16th.

Also Thursday, a jury trial was set for Carlos Gonzalez, 17,  of St. Mary’s. Several dates were set for the many burglary and felonty theft cases against Gonzales–all in March. Gonzales was arrested in connection with a November funeral home burglary in St. Mary’s.
