Riley County Police indicate they have received numerous  tips through Crime Stoppers in connection with Sunday morning’s fatal shooting of Frederick Beverly, 21,  of Manhattan, who was a member of the National Guard. In fact, police add they are actively investigating some of those leads and continue to encourage members of the public to come forward with information regarding a vehicle they’re interested in.

That vehicle is described as a blue, newer model Chevrolet, possibly an Impala with 22 inch chrome rims. One of the front quarter panels had the number 22 written on the side. The vehicle was described as having dark tinted windows with chrome around the window edges.

Crime Stoppers can be reached at 539-7777 or toll free at 1-800-222-tips, or 8477. Detective Runyan can also be contacted at 537-2112, extension 2465.

Beverly was a Specialist with the 2137th Forward Support Battalion, based in Manhattan.
