Not a blip was registered nationally for K-State basketball at the start of the season. But, everyone has taken notice of the Cats after an 11-1 start and a Diamond Head Classic championship. K-State cracked the Associated Press’ Top 25 for the first time this week after their 82-46 win over Howard on Saturday. The Cats check in at #23 in the nation. Baylor is #4, Missouri is #7, and KU is ranked #14. K-State is #22 in the coaches’ poll.
The Sunflower Showdown will tip off the Big 12 schedule for both teams on Wednesday night at Allen Field House. Tip off is set for 7:00pm, and the Wildcats and Jayhawks can be heard on 101.5 K-Rock at 6:00 with the pregame from the K-State Sports Network. KMAN will join the game in progress after the K-State women’s game against defending national champ Texas A&M.
