    MHS wrestling 5th at Newton TOC

    Manhattan High finishes 5th in the Newton Tournament of Champions this weekend, just missing out on a team trophy at the prestigous meet.  Tulsa, Oklahoma Union is nationally ranked, and won the tournament.  Ark City was second, followed by Lawrence, Newton, and Manhattan in the top five.

    Indian 170 pound wrestler Brian Wood made the finals, but fell to Nick Pursel of Lawrence to finish 2nd.  106 pound Jase Stone was third, 182 pound Trey Campbell and 220 pound Deion Parker were 5th, and 145 pound Davis Matthews and 195 pound Ty Suggs also made the medal stand in 6th.
