Kelly Moylan has been named the interim girls’ basketball coach at Manhattan High, athletics director Shad Spilski confirmed to The Mercury on Tuesday.
Moylan will take over the program after longtime head coach Scott Mall retired in July. She first joined the MHS program in 2018, serving as the head assistant and junior varsity coach.
She is still working to fill two assistant staff positions. Spilski said decisions on the openings could come within the next couple of weeks, if not sooner.
Moylan brings extensive coaching experience to the position, including stops at Kansas State and the University of Northern Colorado. She also spent two seasons as the head girls basketball coach at Junction City, compiling a 30-15 record and earning co-Coach of the Year honors in 2005.
