Homeless man shoplifts, arrested for 2009 burglary

A homeless man who tried to shoplift from Walmart is facing time for a 2009 burglary.

The RCPD reports it was called to Walmart around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening by an employee after 27-year-old Leon Houk (hoke) allegedly tried to steal 27-dollars worth of unidentified merchandise.

As officers were processing Houk’s notice to appear on the shoplifting charge, they were alerted to a warrant from Riley County District Court after Houk skipped a court date last month on the 2009 Burglary Charge.

He is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on a 10-thousand dollar bond.
